Postpartum Depression Signs can start to manifest themselves right after delivery or it could be as long as 6 months after the baby is born before they begin to appear. Postpartum symptoms can be mild or very severe. For my wife and I the symptoms were almost immediate and gradually became quite severe. This is another type of depression that I can personally identify with. Women are more prone to this type of depression but as you will see from our personal experience, it can also affect men.
